Who we are
The Business Development Center is a Jordanian non-profit organization
contributing to economic development and a better life for all Jordanians by
helping Jordanian enterprises realize their full potential, creating more jobs
and higher incomes, and preparing them to compete successfully in regional and
international markets. As a regional and national resource, the Center also
launches business development service initiatives and facilitates multiple donor
economic development projects.
Established in 2005, the Business Development Center (BDC) is the sustainable
successor institution to the USAID-funded, $27 million economic development
program, the Jordan-United States Business Partnership (JUSBP). As such, BDC
inherits the hands-on knowledge, networks and experience gained during JUSBP’s
seven years of effective firm-level assistance to small and medium-sized
enterprises (SMEs) in Jordan.
Working with an even broader range of donors, business service providers and
partners today, BDC expands upon this effort which led to such outstanding past
accomplishments. BDC will continue to manage a number of projects and pipeline
initiatives which help Jordanian SMEs navigate the challenges and opportunities
of the competitive business and trade environment to reach ever higher levels of
achievement.
