The Ministry of Environment and the Business Development Center launched the Green Entrepreneurship project in Jordan

An agreement was signed between the Ministry of Environment and Business Development Center-BDC to launch the Green Entrepreneurship project in Jordan. The MoU aims at motivating the Jordanian youth to start their sustainable green businesses that adopt systematic scientific foundations to provide green services or goods that contribute to preserving the environment and contributes to economic development.

The project, which the first of its kind in Jordan, is funded by the EU in cooperation with SCP/RAC, through SWITCH Med initiative for the Mediterranean Sea Basin.

Under the memorandum, the BDC will train 160 entrepreneurs from different Jordanian governorates and provide them with the needed skills and tools for turning innovative ideas into successful green businesses.

This agreement comes as an important part of cooperation between the public and private sectors to support and develop entrepreneurial projects, especially green ones, which are concerned with preserving the environment, and provide job opportunities for Jordanian youth in various governorates.
