The Ambassador of France to Jordan visits Sahab area to oversee TANMYEH project Access to Vocational Training, Employment and Development

H.E. David Bertolotti the Ambassador of France to Jordan, accompanied the president of the Business Development Center (BDC),  Nayef Stetieh, visited the Sahab area on Wednesday to see the achievements of "TANMYEH: Access to Vocational training, Employment and Development. The project is managed by the Business Development Center and funded through a 3 million grant from the French Agency for Development (AFD) within the "Sawa" initiative. The visit was also attended by the Director of Sahab Industrial City, the Mayor of Sahab and the Chairman of the Sahim Association.

The project that is implemented for 3 years (2019-2022) aims at supporting 2000 young Jordanians and Syrian refugees to increase access to jobs in the industrial areas in Zarqa, Irbid and Amman, in addition to the project centers in Ajloun and Jerash.

The project promotes the employability of the youth in Jordan through adequate training, thus consolidating the educational practices of VTC institutions and private academies to be in line with the requirements of the industrial sector. It is built based on employment partnerships with the industrial chambers in Zarqa, Irbid and Amman to secure employment opportunities and self-employment for youth.

During the visit, H.E Ambassador Bertolotti attended part of the training organized by the BDC. The beneficiaries shared their feedback, mentioning the projects impact on enhancing their personal skills, building their practical professional capabilities to meet the labor market requirements and provide them with required skills and behaviors to succeed in the work environment.

H.E the French Ambassador praised the positive feedback he heard from the program beneficiaries and the impact of the project in motivating youth and increasing their self-confidence and capabilities to access labor environment through providing them with the technical and practical skills, stressing the role of France, in supporting Jordans youth empowerment and, more broadly, the countrys economic development.

Nayef Stetieh, the President and CEO of the BDC, expressed his appreciation to the AFD and to the support of France,, mentioning the projects important impact in addressing the gap between the skills and labor market requirements in the manufacturing sector as well as its role in promoting the human resources development.
